Like Walters Shoes, the Josef Seibel company has been in business a long time. Started in 1886 in the home of Carl August Seibel, the brand is now sold in more than 35 countries and is still family owned.
The majority of the shoes are still made in Europe, and incredibly some of the processes such as stitching the uppers to the soles, are done by hand. Hand stitching offers increased flexibilty, increased wear and an original appearance.
Josef Seibel have also pionneered different comfort technologies into their products. Air-Ped is a sytem of air channels in the footbed which is cushioned and shock absorbing. Air-Arneplant has carbon technology in the insole that is sweat and odour resistant.
One of the most interesting concepts is the Spirit of Nature range, which brings together several eco-friendly features, to create a shoe for those those who want to lower their carbon "footprint".
100% chrome free tanned linings, CFC free sole units, and the use of hand stitching in the Spirit of Nature range provides people with the opportunity to consider the environment when choosing the right shoes.
